Being held up in the Simpang Siur, Kuta, has caused many complaints by the people and tourists. And the solution to this has seen the construction of subways or underpasses commence.

The underpass will be built just below the statue of Lord Ruci, Simpang Siur, Kuta, Bali. Underpass construction was marked by the declaration of construction (ground breaking), Wednesday (21/12/2011). Minister of Public Works Djoko Kirmanto attended the launching of the construction in the north Dewa Ruci statue.

The underpass will facilitate the flow of traffic to Nusa Dua and Denpasar Ngurah Rai International Airport or from region to Nusa Dua to Seminyak. Tourists will feel comfortable if it later came to the area that is now the center congestion.

Construction is expected to be completed during the 18 months to May 2013. Underpass is expected to support the implementation of the APEC Summit in Nusa Dua and AFTA in 2015
