Ubud Writers and Readers Festival 2012
A number of authors, readers, and fans of writing from around the world will once again gather Ubud, Bali. For the ninth time, the annual Ubud Writers and Readers Festival 2012 will be held on October 3 to 7, 2012 in this small beautiful town.
The 2012 theme pays homage to one of Indonesia’s greatest contemporary writers Pramoedya Ananta Tur and his epic novel Earth Humans or “This Earth of Mankind”. Building on the legacy Pramoedya’s festival program team has visited 25 cities across Indonesia to interact with established writers, and Uncover brilliant young minds to weave into the program.
To support a variety of exciting and varied program at Ubud Writers & Readers Festival 2012, a number of authors Indonesia will be involved.
Workshop sessions in this event will include memoirs, poetry, fantasy stories, fiction, screen writing and travel writing. There are also several free events, such as special performances from Lampung and Street Theatre The famous Party collaborated with Komseni orchestral music, Joged Bungbung Dance, shows a number of bands, and street poet.
In addition, at this year’s festival will also present Art and Food Market, the place where authors and participants can simultaneously enjoy the beauty of the gorgeous Tjampuhan Ridge. In this area there are also “Home Read” or “Reading Room” to be colored a special reading program and exhibition of traditional clothing, batik, painting, sculpture, and jewelry from artisans Ubud.

Indonesia – 6th Bali Triathlon
Bali Island to hold back the world’s prestigious sporting competition Biznet Bali International Triathlon is the 6th, which will take place on June 24, 2012 with theme “Triathlon for the Soul”.
Location of the race will take place at coastal area is beautiful and much visited by tourists, they are The Ayana Resort and Spa, Four Seasons Resort, Jimbaran and InterContinental Bali Resort.
The competition will start from Jimbaran Bay followed by cycling along the Nusa Dua Peninsula. The race will end with the race run through Jimbaran Village.
The plan Biznet Bali International Triathlon 2012 will hold swim race with distance of 1.5 km at Jimbaran Bay, 40 km bike ride through the streets paved and hilly, and then run as far as 10 miles to finish right on the beach at the Four Seasons Resort Jimbaran Bay. Sprint distance race that will show the tension includes swimming 500 meters, biking 20 kilometers and running five kilometers.
Over the last six years the interest and participation Biznet Bali International Triathlon continue to rise. This international competition also received widespread support including from communities around the Jimbaran and Nusa Dua. The main sponsor of this event is Biznet Networks, Four Seasons Resort at Jimbaran Bay, InterContinental Bali Resort and AYANA Resort and Spa Bali. Jumeirah to operate luxury Bali resort

The Jumeirah Group has entered into an agreement with PT Asia Pasifik Properti to operate a luxurious resort on the island of Bali, Indonesia.
The Dubai-based hotel chain said, the Jumeirah Bali will be situated in the south of the Jimbaran district, providing spectacular views of the amazing Dreamland surfing beach, as well as direct access to the exclusive New Kuta golf course.
The luxurious resort is set to open in 2015, the resort will consist of 80 suites and 25 private villas surrounded by tropical gardens and architectural aspects reflecting the island’s cultural heritage.
Guests will enjoy a range of international and local foods and three restaurants as well as Jumeirah’s signature Talise Spa and fitness centre.
Gerald Lawless, executive chairman of the hotel chain, said the company is “delighted” to bring its “stay different” brand experience to Bali.”Our guests will enjoy the exclusive and pristine beachfront location as well as the traditional Balinese ambiance of the resort,” he added.
“This reaffirms our commitment to celebrating the cultural uniqueness of every destination, while offering our award-winning service in the most luxurious settings.”
