EarthCheck, the world’s leading sustainable travel and tourism certification organization has recognized ’s Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa, resort’s commitment to environmental practices.

The EarthCheck Program evaluates key environmental indicators such as energy and water consumption, and total waste production as well as community commitment.

Using the EarthCheck tool, Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa committed itself to benchmarking local environmental and social issues such as biodiversity conservation, environmental investment and enhanced community benefits. This included submitting a year’s worth of operational data, and having it compared with that of similar properties. As a result, it achieved Bronze Benchmarked status.

The 2011 Kuta Karnival Bali

Starting Friday 14 Oct till Sunday 16th Oct 2011, Kuta will host its 9th Annual International Event, the ‘’ A celebration of Life

The theme for the 9th Kuta Karnival is “Light up the World”. This event will be officially opened by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture of the Republic of at 3pm on the 14th Oct 2011. The opening will also be grace with the presence of local government officials and community leaders in Kuta.

The event opening will be held at Jaba (terrace) Pura Segara Kuta with a great line up of performances, including traditional Balinese dances and a that will involve 250 dancers.

The opening ceremony will see everyone that attends be invited to take part in a Sunset Parade which will end at the Music and Food Festival Fiesta at the beach front of JI. Benesar Kuta.

Australians keep visiting Bali

“My second home is Bali” is what more and more Australians are saying, this is based on the newest tourism figures for January to July released by the Bali tourism office.

Ida Bagus Subhiksu, Chief of Bali Tourism Office, said approximately 50 percent more Aussies have visited during the January-July period this year than the same time last year.

Ida Bagus Subhiksu said the increase was greater than predicted and it was wonderful news due to the fact the Australian government had recently issued a revised travel advisory regarding the June taxi driver demonstration in Denpasar and Kuta.

“It’s great that Australians consider Bali as their second home despite the warnings,” Subhiksu said.

The Australians are not alone when it comes to a love affair with Bali. More travelers from countries like Taiwan, Britain, Singapore and the Netherlands have visited during the January-July period

Idul Fitri Holiday – 2010

Idul Fitri would be on September 10th and 11th, 2010.

This is a Moslem Holiday New year Holiday, 1 Syawal, 1431 Hijriyah but it is a for all religion in . Before Idul Fitri is coming, Moslem must do a Fasting (Puasa)  for a month. Fasting will started at 05:00 am to 07:30pm (13.5 Hours). When fasting Muslim can not eat and drink and do the bad things like lying, bad rumours, etc. At the opposite it is suggested to do the good things, and praying to get closer to the God, creator of the world. Before Idul fitri, Moslem also need compulsory gift called “Zakat” to the poor people. This gift is compulsory for all Muslim, since baby till old people that still have something to eat for tomorrow. It is to build a sympathy deep in the heart.

Bali growth almost reaches 6%

In 2008 ’s economy grew by nearly 6 percent as reported by the Jarkata Post. It was seen as positive growth on the back of 5.92 percent in the 2007 period. Growth was slower than expected with predicated to reach the 6 percent mark.

Taking into account the economic troubles in 2008, economists said the growth was considerably good. Nyoman Erawan and economist from the Udayana University said despite the hike in crude oil and recent economic crisis, this is pretty good.
